Why Do we give?

It is a matter of worship & priority. During a time of spiritual renewal in Israel, the prophet Malachi wrote to the people about God’s everlasting promise regarding their giving. In chapter 3, verses 10-12 he says: "Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse that there may be food in my house. Test me in this, says the Lord God Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it. I will prevent pests from devouring your crops, and the vines in your fields will not lose their fruit, says the Lord God Almighty. Then all the nations will call you blessed, for yours will be a delightful land, says the Lord God Almighty."

Simply put, we give because we believe that everything belongs to God, including the money we earn and have in our possession. Mankind has never had a problem spending money on that which we love, and we want our finances to willingly reflect our submission to Jesus. (Psalm 24:1).

Obedience still matters. Here at Home Church we are committed to obedience to God in all things. Obedience will always require sacrifice. But, it always leads to blessing, not only for us, but for our community and even our world. When you give your tithe (1/10 of any gain you receive), you are allowing God to open the floodgates of blessing in your life and our church to be a delightful place that blesses others.

how is the money used

While a portion of your giving will go to pay utilities and allow us to maintain our facilities, a majority of your giving goes to ministry through our church staff and to the various programs we offer at our church. This ministry blesses our church body and our community by reaching lost people with the Good News of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

We also believe we are here to bless the entire world. Through Faith Promise giving, you are sharing the Good News of Jesus all over the world through new churches, schools, hospitals and a multitude of compassionate ministries which help people all over the world who in are lost and in need. Currently we engaged in a multi-year project to help a community in Haiti through Work and Witness, which are direct trips to build a church, school, and medical clinic for their community.

There are also opportunities to give to a variety of funds that help our community and our church family.

Thank you for participating in God’s plan to bring great blessing to your life and to our community and broader world through your tithes and offerings.
